Letter hab been received from Mesurs Preeșe,

Cardew and Rider, the-consulting engineers

appointed by the Hong Kong Planning Unit-about

the disposal of 2,900 line telephone exchange

ordered under the authority of. Thomson

(in a letter dated 24th May, 1945, reference

351/7) from Siemens Bros, and Gempery, prior to

the liberation at cost or approximately

£45,000 on the assumption that 100 per cent

destruction would have escurred in Hong Kong.
